Job Full Description

Job Summary: The Design Team Purchasing position will include:

  • Purchasing components and supplies for the company with a focus on the electromechanical design department
  • Sourcing new components and suitable alternates for existing components
  • Negotiating competitive pricing
  • Regularly checking in on high priority items to help meet deadlines
  • Developing good working relationships with vendors, manufacturing partners, and other external parties while also holding them accountable on pricing and deadlines
  • Working closely with vendors, supply chain, electromechanical design team, and other internal staff to verify all required components and supplies are available and procured when needed
  • Identify supply chain problems, propose suitable solutions, implement the solutions, and maintain supply chain integrity
  • Position may also include other tasks as required.

 

Position Hours: Full time

Compensation:

  • Annual compensation will start in the range of $75,000 to $100,000 depending on applicant's experience, credentials, and performance.
  • Benefits package including pooled insurance benefits, health spending account, rrsp match, paid sick leave after probationary period.

 

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Legally entitled to live and work in Canada
  • Basic computer skills
  • Self motivated with the ability to work independently, and good collaboration with staff and clients
  • Good organizational skills
  • Understanding of basic electrical components and mechanical hardware
  • Maintain professionalism in the workplace, remains composed under pressure while meeting deadlines, maintaining regular schedule with occasional extended hours
