Job Full Description

We are currently recruiting for a Human Resource & Payroll Administrator role in an medium-sized construction company in Port Moody. This is a full-time & permanent role working directly with the Office Manager.

The candidate considered, must have excellent communication skills: written & verbal as you will be communicating with both clients, customers & internal employees.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of human resource & payroll experience, Canadian experience only
  • 4 year bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Proficient with MS Suite, ADP is a requirement. Experience using JONAS would be an additional strong asset
  • HR Management/leadership experience in a small to mid-size division or company
  • Must have excellent communication skills: written & verbal
  • Ability to prioritize tasks & meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Reference & background check will be conducted
  • Knowledge of HR principles and practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness.
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate professionally and provide constructive feedback in a confident and respectful manner.
  • Ability to make sound, timely, and accurate recommendations, judgments and decisions with supporting reasons to solve a wide range of human resource issues and business problems.
  •  Professional, responsive, and a positive work attitude. 
  • Resourceful, flexible, and well organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to develop and deliver presentations.

Duties:

  • ·        Manage human resources and payroll records and forms (new hires, terminations, pay increases, vacation tracking).
  • ·        Process Biweekly payroll in Jonas Premier (for job costing) and ADP (for payment and HR System).
  • ·        Create and update job descriptions.
  • ·        Develop, make recommendations, and execute approved recruitment plans.
  • ·        Work with the President and department heads on recruitment planning and hiring.
  • ·        Lead the interviewing process for each open position.
  • ·        Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • ·        Post openings on the internet, classifieds, professional and educational organizations, and other appropriate venues.
  • ·        Assist the President and department heads in performing reference checks and background checks for potential employees and writing rejection letters.
  • ·        Set up a procedure for interviewing and selecting employees on site.
  • ·        Assist in preparing and sending employment offer packages.
  • ·        Manage employee onboarding; assist in preparing and sending new employee orientation packages.
  • ·        Manage performance management and improvement systems including designing and distributing 3 month, 6 month and annual reviews and attending all performance review meetings with department heads and employees.
  • ·        Manage and coordinate employee development and training.
  • ·        Promote and administer Trade Apprenticeships
  • ·        Monitor, manage and make recommendations related to compliance with statutory employment requirements.
  • ·        Manage employee time allocation records.
  • ·        Approve and record vacation time.
  • ·        Make recommendations for and maintain an employee recognition program.
  • ·        Recommend ways of improving employee performance and morale.
  • ·        Arrange short-term accommodation for employees on site and at the office.
  • ·        Manage employee compensation and benefits administration.
  • ·        Manage internal labour pool and transferring site staff among various sites.
