Job Full Description
Our Maple Ridge based client is seeking a full-time professional, motivated and relationship driven individual to expand their sales and customer relationships, with focus on commercial door hardware and surrounding products. This person will be instrumental in growing the region, formulating new connections, and strengthening and nourishing existing customer relationships. The Sales Consultant will be instrumental on the sales team, focusing on Construction Hardware Distributors (CHDs), generating leads, determining customer needs, advising on product, acting as a resource of expertise, resolving quote and delivery hurdles and troubleshooting jobsite challenges.
Key Responsibilities
· Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers (CHDs)
· Manage and expand existing customer relationships
· Develop extensive knowledge of product lines and expertise to provide adept consulting and troubleshooting for customers
· Communicate effectively between corporate brands, production & manufacturing to facilitate timely delivery to maintain customer deadlines
· Proactively utilize Salesforce CRM to track all opportunities and projects
· Develop plans on how to maintain and expand account relationships and sales
· Familiarity with other brands beyond the company’s commercial hardware core, to include Bradley washroom products, electron‐mechanical, Record auto operators, etc.
· Visit customers/accounts regularly to establish solid relationships and rapport to drive sales, orders, and quotes.
· Present marketing activities, new products, and product innovations to actively grow business base
· Deliver corporate sales volumes and manage associated costs within designated territory
· Continually refine sales strategy to maximize both sales revenue and profitability + increase corporate pipeline
· Maintain active awareness of product updates, pricing, production and delivery times, and communicate these effectively to customers and internal team.
· Provide timely and accurate activity reporting, utilizing and developing available corporate reporting tools
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements
· Minimum 2 years’ experience within door hardware, architecture OR construction supplies
· Ability to travel across province, plus other Canadian provinces while maintaining valid and clean driver’s license.
· Clear, professional, engaging communication skills
· Participate in, guide and coordinate knowledgeable one‐on‐one or group meetings with clients as required
· Maintain monthly records and effectively produce clear communication with project & design/architectural leads.
· Manage sales expenses and budgets responsibly
· Effective interaction plus strong attention to commercial, multifamily and healthcare construction industry
Assets
· Experience selling opening solutions as a consultant using effective communication approach with a diverse audience
· Strong time management skills
· Ability to analyze and identify sales opportunities, plus troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
· Listening skills: ability to listen to and understand a customer’s issues and needs, then translate into action plan
· Advanced MS Office skills and Salesforce experience
· Ability to travel freely to U.S.A. for future corporate events or training
· AHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) or other DHI certification
Compensation
· To be determined based on experience (Range starting at $78,000+ / year salary)
· Annual bonus program: Up to 15% salary, based on 10% growth of local region + 5% of overall corporate performance
· Corporate car allowance ($600/mo) + $.25/km for corporate travel

· Vacation: 2 weeks (10 working days) per calendar year
