Job Full Description
We are currently recruiting for a Purchaser role in Port Coquitlam. This is a full-time & permanent role at a large wholesaler of products & supplies.
Requirements:
-
5+ years of previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a wholesale or packaging-related industry
- Proficient in MS Suite - advanced MS Excel skills
- Fluency with ACCPACC is a strongly preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks & meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills: written & verbal
- Capable of working through high-volume periods
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- References & BG check will be conducted upon further consideration of a candidate
Duties:
- Source and purchase packaging materials and supplies to support business operations
- Placing purchase orders into the system (approx. 2-10/day), track shipments, and resolve order discrepancies
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to achieve cost savings
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and timely deliveries
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and service levels
- Maintain price pages for the Sales Department
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain optimal stock levels
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations
- Assisting the COO as required: prepare reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance
