Express Employment Professionals is actively looking for a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our client’s expanding team. Our client specializes in providing top-tier professional tools and equipment.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in our client’s team, handling routine maintenance and servicing for a range of equipment and vehicles, from small engines to heavy machinery.
Based primarily in Elmsdale, this position requires reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract, as the candidate may occasionally use a company vehicle. Our client operates multiple locations throughout the HRM.
Job Duties:
· Perform regular maintenance and repair work on a fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety
· Conduct preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment to reduce downtime and extend service life
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy-duty equipment and vehicles
· Recondition equipment to restore it to peak operating condition
· Maintain and service small engines and other equipment, ensuring reliable operation for various applications
· Inspect and diagnose issues with equipment, making necessary repairs or recommending replacements as needed
· Collaborate with team members to prioritize and address urgent repairs while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
· Keep detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and service history for all vehicles and equipment
· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and best practices during maintenance and repair activities
Requirements:
· Must have at least 5 years of experience
· Having a red seal certificate is an asset
· Able to work under pressure to troubleshoot and repair equipment
· Previous experience maintaining aerial lifts and telescopic forklifts is an asset
· Strong mechanical aptitude, along with skills in machining and precision measurement
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong leadership skills
· Good organizational skills
· Must have steel-toed boots and your own tools
· Ability to prioritize and multi-task with a sense of urgency when required
· Strong knowledge and adherence to safe work habits and procedures at all times
· Valid driver’s license, clean drivers abstract, and reliable transportation
· Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and client interaction

· Full-time permanent role
· Pay is $40-$45 per hour depending on experience
· Monday to Friday schedule from 7 am – 4 pm
