Job Full Description
Our client is a Custom home builder in search of 2 highly experienced house framers to join their team. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work with various materials, including wood and concrete.
** MUST HAVE 3-5 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN RESIDENTIAL & CUSTOM FRAMING**
- Reading Blueprints: Framing requires understanding construction drawings and blueprints to follow the correct design and measurements.
- Cutting and Assembling Materials: Framers use materials like wood, steel, or concrete to construct beams, studs, rafters, and trusses, often using saws, hammers, and power tools.
- Building Walls, Floors, and Roofs: They construct the basic framework of the building, including vertical studs, horizontal top and bottom plates, and horizontal floor joists. Roof trusses and rafters are also part of their work.
- Ensuring Structural Integrity: Framers must ensure the structure is square, level, and plumb. This means aligning walls and floors properly to ensure the building will be stable and safe.
- Lifting and Positioning Large Components: Framers often work with large, heavy pieces of lumber or pre-made trusses, requiring teamwork and coordination to lift and position them correctly.
- Installing Temporary Supports: During the framing process, they might set up temporary supports (like braces or shoring) to hold everything in place until the structure is complete.
- Working with Other Trades: Framing is typically one of the first stages in construction. Framers work closely with other construction professionals, including electricians, plumbers, and roofers, who will install systems and finish materials once the structure is in place.
