Electrician

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our Client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure. This includes installing electrical wiring in buildings and poles, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts, and repairing equipment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Modify, maintain, or repair electrical, electronic, or mechanical components, equipment, or systems to ensure proper functioning.

·         Install or program computer hardware or machine or instrumentation software in microprocessor-based systems.

·         Consult with mechanics to ensure that electromechanical equipment or systems meet design specifications.

·         Perform routine preventative maintenance of high-speed production equipment.

·         Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and production equipment to minimize line downtime and optimize production quality and efficiencies.

·         Carry out PLC troubleshooting and programming changes as required.

·         Participate in continuous improvement projects and complete assigned work orders according to PM schedules to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and safety.

·         Be involved with equipment installations and modifications as required.

·         Work in a safe manner, ensuring all safety procedures are followed and compliance with legislation and technical standards.

·         Report any issues to the maintenance planning coordinator immediately.

·         Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices and using personal protective equipment.

·         Adhere to food safety and GMP requirements while performing maintenance tasks to ensure safety and quality.

·         Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.

·         Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.

·         Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.

·         Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.

·         Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.

·         Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

·         Perform electric and automation troubleshooting and installation.

·         Perform other assigned duties.

·         Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.

·         Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.

·         Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

·         Valid Electrician Ticket 442A or 309A

·         Minimum 3 years experience in an industrial setting as an electrician.

·         Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.

·         Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.

·         Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.

·         Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.

·         Strong PLC programming knowledge required.

·         Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.

·         Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
