Job Full Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Team Lead to oversee the manufacturing of goods, train maintenance staff, and ensure the smooth running and upkeep of all production lines for our Client. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily maintenance activities, developing and coaching employees, and ensuring the performance and efficiency of equipment on the production floor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Oversee daily maintenance department activities on assigned shift.

·         Ensure performance and efficiency of production floor equipment through OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) metrics.

·         Develop and coach maintenance employees, with evaluation based on employee satisfaction results.

·         Supervise and train maintenance technicians according to the company training program.

·         Identify and continuously strive to reduce waste.

·         Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.

·         Enforce and champion health and safety procedures and policies.

·         Ensure production output meets standards and goals.

·         Allocate resources effectively to complete Work Orders and PMs as assigned by Maintenance Manager & Scheduler/Planner.

·         Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives, providing a clear sense of direction and focus.

·         Develop and implement a training/development plan for each mechanic that aligns with the millwright job description.

·         Collaborate closely with the leadership team to set and achieve company priorities.

·         Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, provincial, and local requirements.

·         Promote and encourage the company’s mission, vision, and culture of training.

·         Review, measure, and report the effectiveness of training through analytical performance of each operator and/or supervisor.

·         Manage the disciplinary action procedure, performance improvement plans, and the annual Performance Review for the team.

 

Qualifications:

·         Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

·         Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, equipment, and safety standards.

·         Demonstrated ability to supervise and train maintenance staff.

·         Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

·         Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

·         Good understanding of production equipment and OEE metrics.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

·         Compliance with all relevant federal, provincial, and local requirements.

·         Strong commitment to promoting and adhering to health and safety procedures.

 

Working Conditions:

·         Work indoors in a manufacturing environment.

·         May be exposed to varying temperatures.

·         Work closely with others, usually within a few feet.

·         Compliant with ventilation, cleanliness, space, lighting, and temperature standards.

·         Standing involved.

·         May repeat the same movement.

·         Often wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, steel-toed safety shoes/boots, and beard nets.

·         Ability to bend or twist the body.

·         Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
