Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized QA Lab Technician to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will perform quality control testing to ensure that products meet our company’s rigorous standards and comply with regulatory requirements. Working with advanced laboratory equipment, you will conduct tests, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our products maintain the highest level of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products according to established procedures and standards.
- Prepare, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Accurately document and record all test results, observations, and data in lab notebooks and digital systems.
- Analyze test results, identify trends or issues, and report findings to the QA Manager.
- Assist in developing and implementing test protocols, methods, and procedures.
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of lab instruments and equipment.
- Ensure all quality control tests adhere to regulatory and safety standards.
- Support internal audits and inspections, and assist in resolving non-conformities.
- Participate in training programs to stay up to date on testing methodologies and industry best practices.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other quality control documentation.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Prepare samples for external testing when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the plastics, compounding, or recycling industry, preferably in quality assurance or control.
- Skills:
- Familiarity with lab safety protocols and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Experience using lab testing equipment such as spectrometers, chromatographs, and pH meters.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and lab management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or ISO standards.
- Familiarity with quality assurance tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for lab equipment and processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing manual tasks.
- Willingness to work with chemicals, reagents, and laboratory equipment in a controlled environment.
