Job Full Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage residential purchase, sale, mortgage, and refinancing files from beginning to end.
- Conduct title searches and other off-title due diligence for real estate transactions.
- Review status certificates for condominium purchases.
- Draft and review legal documents, including agreements of purchase and sale, requisition letters, deeds, registrable instruments, affidavits, statements of adjustment, and fund summaries.
- Prepare routine correspondence, including final reports for clients and lenders.
- Conduct title searches and register documentation using Teraview and Unity.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve title issues, including encumbrance reviews.
- Coordinate and organize files and closings.
- Maintain and update current and archived files in the firm’s filing system.
- Perform administrative and ancillary tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 1–5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk in real estate law.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- A pleasant, outgoing demeanor with efficiency, organization, and self-reliance.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and high workload volumes (e.g., handling 30 transactions/month during peak seasons).
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Soluno, Teraview, Unity, and Adobe Sign.
