Express Employment Professionals in Guelph is recruiting for a Material Handler for one of our valued clients.
Position Summary:
New exciting opportunity! This role ensures the timely delivery of materials and parts to production associates, enabling them to maintain focus on assembly and testing within their work cells.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling Experience Required, including operation of equipment for moving heavy materials
- Inspect incoming orders for accuracy, ensuring all items are received as per the order. Immediately report any discrepancies.
- Accurately receive and stage raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products.
- Assist in inventory counts and documentation processes.
- Safely operate forklifts to load/unload trucks and move materials within the warehouse.
- Replenish production lines with necessary materials.
- Prepare and deliver accurate kits to workstations as requested.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of work order documents.
- Conduct initial and in-process quality inspections.
- Record work order completions, in-process fallout, and other relevant data in SAP MRP.
- Operate all equipment according to safety and quality standards.
- Report any concerns or requests for assistance to leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, and material handling (with heavy material)
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Forklift operator certification required, DZ license an asset
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Strong sense of urgency and a results-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with customs documentation and third-party carrier paperwork preferred
- Flexibility to accommodate scheduling changes based on business needs
