They generate an average of 1 billion Euros in revenue and produces over 1.5M tons of steel per year (Long round bar products).
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and regulatory policies, and practices
- Ensure safe, efficient and consistent operation and maintenance of equipment and processes
- Understand and perform safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lockout and emergency response
- Inspect and repair mechanical equipment and industrial machinery
- Perform preventive maintenance procedures, to minimize downtime and maintenance costs, and manage equipment efficiencies
- Perform downtime repair work; troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, identify opportunities for optimization
- Ensure that all work completed meets regulatory guidelines, manufacturers’ specifications and internal maintenance procedures
- Interpret, complete and record work orders
- Maintain proper documentation including logs, maintenance records, safety and environment reports
Qualifications
- Grade 12 High School Diploma
- Completion of four year Millwright apprenticeship program in mechanical trade preferred
- 3+ years industrial maintenance experience, preferably within the steel industry
- Prior experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment and PLC controlled machinery
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Previous experience of using computer software applicable to maintenance operations
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Knowledge and experience in reading electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics
Work schedule: rotational shift (2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights
Day shift: Mon to Thurs - 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Night Shift: Mon to Thurs – 6 p.m. to 6 a.m
