Job Full Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experience welder who is comfortable fabricating aluminum components according to specifications and blueprints, primarily using TIG welding techniques. This role requires strong attention to detail, precision, and an in-depth knowledge of aluminum properties and TIG welding best practices. The ideal candidate will ensure that all welds meet quality standards and specifications, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:

- Perform TIG welding on aluminum components based on specifications, blueprints, and work orders.
- Set up welding equipment, including adjusting current, gas flow, and heat settings, to ensure high-quality welds.
- Prepare materials by cleaning and grinding the aluminum surfaces to ensure optimal weld quality.
- Fabricate and assemble parts as required, ensuring accurate measurements and alignment.
- Inspect completed welds for accuracy, quality, and durability, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Identify and repair any defects, porosity, or other issues in welds.
- Perform regular testing of welds to ensure structural integrity and precision.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to understand welding requirements and measurements.
- Mark weld points and set up fixtures as needed to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain TIG welding equipment, ensuring all components are in good working condition.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and calibrating machinery.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues with welding equipment and make adjustments as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow established safety procedures for handling, welding, and working with aluminum and other metals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant welding codes, such as AWS (American Welding Society) standards, if applicable.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and new welding techniques.
- Identify opportunities for improving welding processes and techniques to enhance productivity and quality.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience with TIG welding, particularly with aluminum.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in welding or related fields are preferred.
- Certification: AWS (American Welding Society) certification is a plus, especially in aluminum welding.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in TIG welding and knowledge of aluminum properties.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Experience with welding equipment setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in various positions (e.g., standing, bending, kneeling) for extended periods.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on producing clean, precise, and aesthetically pleasing welds.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety practices and regulations for welding environments.
