Job Full Description
Position: Senior Design Engineer
Shift Timing: Monday to Friday (8 AM to 5PM)
Salary: 70K - 100K Annual
Location: Mississauga, ON (On site)
Requirements :
Design
· Extensive Knowledge and execution with web tracking and web path for roll-to-roll machine in tension control mechanism performing unwind and re-wind process for vinyl film and paper film.
· To create 3D model concepts as per the inputs and requirements of the assembly (SolidWorks and PDM).
· Knowledge working with PDM database.
· Strong experience working with SolidWorks Motion to animate and better understand assemblies.
· Knowledge working with Key-Shot will be an asset.
· Preparing the Step, pdf and DXF format for approval and sharing with vendors.
· Co-ordinator with Production and other plant indices for final approval on the new drawings getting released to production.
· To update the CAD model and assign part number for the purchased parts.
· To provide assembly level drawings for production shop floor.
· To help establish the assembly process for the new projects getting implemented on the production line.
· To prepare the complete BOM of parts for each project before getting implemented on production line.
· Experience in plastic, film or paper converting business.
· Experience with Electrical and Pneumatic schematic for designing and simulation in configuring. The assembly layout plan with forecasting DFMEA.
· To search for new /latest concepts coming up in competitive machines and benchmark to incorporate the best ideas into current machine design.
· Check layouts of mechanical parts for interferences with other components of an assembly and services for continuity and completeness.
· Ensuring all plans and prototypes conform to industry standards and guidelines.
Engineering Co-ordination
· To co-ordinate for the fabrication of the R&D projects parts with CNC /production supervisor.
· Providing support from design perspective for any quality /production related concerns.
· Release, modify and implement ECN as per requirement.
Others
· Administrative responsibilities.
· Prepare documentation for ISO certification and Compliance with standards, when required.
· Provide inputs for SRED claims and documentation.
· Any other task or job assigned by the management.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would have:
· Bachelor’s degree in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or product design engineering technology.
· Must have a minimum 8-10 years of experience in the field of Mechanical Design.
· Must have experience using SolidWorks and PDM (Product Data Management)
· Demonstrate a strong desire for advancement and professional development.
· Knowledge of ISO and TS standards will be an asset.
· PMP certification will be an asset.
