Job Full Description

The Industrial Millwright plays a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities within an industrial setting. This position is responsible for conducting both non-preventative and preventative maintenance, installing new machinery and equipment, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and maintaining records of maintenance activities. The role demands extensive knowledge of pump and gearbox repairs, and it requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as perform tasks like pushing, pulling, and bending. The job may involve working in hot conditions, occasional overtime, and being on call. The ideal candidate should possess 2-5 years of experience as a millwright in an industrial setting, hold an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent, and have a Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright. Additional qualifications such as Certification as a TIG welder or pipefitter are assets. Candidates should also hold an AEC/DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate and be proficient in working with a variety of basic and power tools, as well as specialty tools within the trade.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure they are in good working order.

Perform non-preventative and preventative maintenance activities on a scheduled basis.

Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery, equipment, and systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve machinery, equipment, or system problems as they arise, including equipment repairs.

Keep accurate records of maintenance activities following established tracking procedures.

Demonstrate expertise in pump and gearbox repairs.

Possess the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and bending.

Be willing to work in hot conditions, occasionally work overtime, and be on call as required.

Qualifications:

2-5 years of experience as a millwright in an industrial setting.

Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma (or equivalent).

Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright.

Certification as a TIG welder or pipefitter is an asset.

AEC/DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required).

Proficiency with a wide assortment of basic and power tools, as well as specialty tools within the trade.

Excellent communication skills for working with various teams, including Quality Assurance, Production, and Utility personnel.
