Job Title: Night Auditor

Reports to: Assistant General Manager
Job Summary:
The Night Auditor serves as the face of the hotel during the overnight hours, overseeing operations from midnight to 8 am. This role entails managing the day-to-day functions of the Front Desk, including closing operations for the day, handling reservations, processing check-ins and check-outs, coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance teams, setting up meeting rooms, and addressing guest concerns with professionalism and courtesy. Additionally, promoting and enrolling guests in the Rewards Program is a key responsibility.
Successful Night Auditors demonstrate reliability, honesty, attentiveness to detail, and the ability to remain composed under pressure while adhering to hotel policies and procedures.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Perform all Guest Service Agent duties.
- Conduct Night Audit tasks such as confirming wake-up calls, processing prepaid reservations, balancing the Property Management System (PMS) credit card transactions, reconciling cash, and running audits on the PMS.
- Prepare arrivals and departures lists, registration cards, keys, and authorization codes.
- Enroll arrivals in rewards promotions.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of breakfast area and meeting rooms.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment.
- Assist with snow shoveling and salting entry areas as needed.

Minimum Education:
Professional Certification/Designation:
- CPR/First Aid Training
- Smart Serve
Experience:
- Hospitality and Customer Service experience preferred, but not required.
Training:
- Completion of Employee Handbook & department manual.
- WHMIS training every two years.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Front Desk Staff Training curriculum within three months of hiring.
- Carbone Monoxide Safety Training annually.
- Fire Extinguisher use training within a few months of hiring.
- Human Trafficking training annually.
- Accessibility Training within three months of hiring.
Skills and Competencies:
Technical:
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with heating & cooling systems, audio & visual equipment.
Behavioral:
- Outgoing, friendly demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Independent decision-making skills with flexibility.
- Detail-oriented with collaborative teamwork skills.
Other Qualifications:
- Sales skills with the ability to upsell.
- Fluency in English language.
Working Conditions:
- Primary shift: Midnight to 8 am, with possible day shifts and cover shifts.
- Shift rotation may apply.
- Variations to regular work week may occur to cover holidays, vacations, and hotel demands.
- Night Audit employees do not receive scheduled breaks or lunch.
Physical Demands:
- Extended periods of standing or sitting.
- Ability to lift and maneuver items up to 25 pounds.
- Routine use of computers, office equipment, and heating equipment.
