Job Title: Deburr Operator
Position Summary:
As a Deburr Operator, you will be responsible for performing deburring, finishing, and cleaning operations on aerospace components to maintain specific tolerances and ensure high-quality workmanship. This position involves working with materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, mild steel, copper alloys, and plastics. You will use a variety of power and hand tools, as well as deburring equipment, to remove burrs, scratches, and imperfections from metallic parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform deburring and finishing operations on aerospace components by following shop orders, blueprints, and other instructions.
- Work with various materials including aluminum, stainless steel, mild steels, copper alloys, and plastics.
- Visually inspect parts for compliance with quality and workmanship standards.
- Select appropriate files or abrasives based on the material, size, and shape of the workpieces.
- Maintain close visual attention during operations to prevent damage to parts or equipment.
- Follow work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures for tool setup, operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling.
- Log jobs in/out of the ERP system, handle materials, and move parts to and from appropriate locations.
- Detect and address surface imperfections such as dings, dents, and scratches.
- Stay focused during repetitive, detail-oriented deburring tasks.
- Contribute to maintaining a professional, safe, and clean work environment while protecting company assets.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and proficiency with small hand tools.
- Be reliable and flexible, with the ability to work additional hours to complete orders and meet customer demands.
- Collaborate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization and communicate with professionalism and high ethical standards.
- Complete assigned tasks on time and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Fine dexterity skills and efficiency with hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, a solid work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive work.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with 2-5 years of related experience preferred.
- Previous experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required.
- CGD and ITAR compliance, with no restrictions.
