Position Overview: Our Client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Control and Metallurgical Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of our castings through process control, metallurgical analysis, and defect analysis. This role involves compliance with safety requirements, coordination with external parties, and providing technical expertise in metallurgy and materials science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with company safety requirements.
- Liaise with external parties as required, including resolving Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Corrective Action Requests (CAR).
- Maintain and update the Alloy List, Melting & Heat Treatment (HT) Procedures, and Welding Procedures.
- Instruct and supervise Quality Control (QC) Inspectors/Technicians.
- Prepare and review Quality Assurance (QA) documentation for customers, including First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Troubleshoot metallurgical and process-related issues both in-house and for customers.
- Provide engineering support and alloy-related expertise as required.
- Assist in controlling and maintaining QC procedures and the ISO 9001:2015 quality system/certification.
- Perform other related responsibilities as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in metallurgy and materials science.
- Expertise in casting defect analysis and root cause investigation.
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
- Hardworking, ambitious, and adaptable.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in the casting or metal fabrication sectors.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and certifications.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Specific trade qualifications are an advantage.
