After graduating high school, Jennifer quickly established herself in a permanent role within the Federal Public Service working for the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA), all the while attending Algonquin College on a part-time basis to further her education. While working for CBSA, she contributed towards the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative which successfully launched in 2009. Unfortunately for her, her department and position was amongst the 19,200 other public servants affected by the Federal cuts conducted by the Harper Government.
Considering it was still early in her career, she was determined to find a better way of life, establish her own reputation, and make a difference in her community. Therefore, her and her fiancé, Chris Vandenbosch, who also worked for the Federal Government, decided to take the leap of faith in opening a Staffing Franchise called Express Employment Professionals. Jennifer always had a passion for helping others and what better than a company who believed in helping as many people as possible find meaningful and valuable work – it was a natural fit.
Open since May 2013, Express Ottawa continues to grow year after year with a goal of being recognized as the best Staffing Firm in Ottawa while contributing to community growth and development. Their current areas of expertise are Administration, Accounting, Management, Light Industrial, Logistics/Transportation, and more. Their services include Temporary Staffing, Contract Staffing, Evaluation Hire, and Professional Search.
