Job Full Description
One of GTA’s longest running roller manufacturers is looking to hire a Junior Lathe Operator to join their team. With their new location situated in Richmond Hill and a very experienced team in place, they are looking to grow and add on new member to the team. The Junior Lathe Operator will generally use a variety of machines (lathe related) to refine and strip excess material of the core of rollers but will also assist other machinists on their daily duties as well when required. The Junior Lathe Operator will report directly to the Production Manager. Desirable candidates will be able to work independently with very minimal supervision, once trained, but must be capable of working with various departments to ensure production is completed. Must be able to complete projects on time and maintain high quality of work.
What we are looking for:
- Someone with previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Skilled with hand and power tools
- Capable of working in a fast paced environment
- Can safely and comfortably lift up to 50lbs when required
- Previous experience with machining a definite asset
What you will be doing:
- Operating multiple lathe machines
- Prepping the cores of rollers by removing the rubber designs
- Set up of larger roller cores with other workers
- QC of completed work to ensure completion of rubber removal
- Assisting other machinists on their daily duties
- Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

This is a full time Monday to Friday day shift opportunity; regular business hours are from 6am – 2:30pm or 7am – 3:30pm.
