Job Full Description
We are currently assisting a local employer with recruiting a Piping Designer.
Qualifications:
- Experience in preparing design drawings and documentation, including line and material lists, following project specifications and adhering to established design practices, standards, and procedures
- Ability to plan and schedule design tasks for assigned projects or areas
- Thorough understanding of the project scope, with the ability to identify potential changes and manage them through the project change control process
- Familiarity with construction work packaging requirements, and the ability to organize documentation to support construction and commissioning
- Regular communication with the Project Manager regarding the status of assignments, including schedule, budget, delays, and issues
- Comprehensive knowledge of requisition processes and the role of materials management
- Experience in maintaining 3D model environments, including the creation and management of electronic piping material specifications
- Expertise in facilitating and navigating 3D model reviews with internal teams and clients
- Strong coordination skills for interdisciplinary work and checking
- Physical ability to perform field checks, which may involve climbing ladders and stairs up to 100 feet
- A strong safety-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in Navisworks, LFM, Recap, and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of AutoPlant is an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently
Wage: $40.00 - $48.00/hour
