Job Summary:
Reporting to the Engineering Director, this role is responsible for the development and maintenance of product support materials, including Operator’s Manuals, Parts Manuals, Service Bulletins, Marketing Materials, Decals, and other technical publications. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various departments to create clear, accurate, and visually engaging documentation that supports product operation, maintenance, and marketing efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
- College diploma in a relevant field or a minimum of 5 years of technical writing experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Software Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro)
- Proficiency with SolidWorks Composer or experience with similar 3D CAD modeling software
- Working knowledge of WordPress with a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research product specifications to develop accurate and detailed support materials.
- Produce, revise, and maintain Operator’s Manuals, Service & Parts Manuals, Bulletins, Instructions, and Decals.
- Utilize SolidWorks Composer to extract and manipulate 3D models for technical publications.
- Design and create safety and operational decals.
- Work closely with engineering, marketing, and product teams to ensure technical content aligns with company standards.
- Maintain and update company website content as required.
- Acquire, retouch, and edit photographs for publications using Photoshop.
- Organize and maintain the Publications Server.
- Print and compile in-house support materials as needed.
- Adhere to government regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while fostering a positive team-oriented environment.
- Identify challenges and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and content accuracy.
